Introduction

HardTuned is a global streetwear brand, founded in 1997, with design studios in the Gold Coast (Australia) and Osaka (Japan) and owned by car-enthusiasts who wanted to create premium JDM-inspired and drift-inspired apparel and accessories. The brand reinvests 60% of profits back into motorsport sponsorships, community events, and athlete support, while operating globally with offices and warehouses in Australia, Japan, Sweden, and the U.S.

Insight

This project in partnership with HardTuned, won Best Low Budget Campaign (SEO) at the Global Search Awards 2025.

Hardtuned partnered with Megantic in December 2023 to conduct a feasibility study and in-depth website research for the USA site, aimed at creating a strategic blueprint for the US site’s architecture ahead of its planned restructure. The business has been developing its online retail and digital presence, but had yet to achieve meaningful results in organic growth.

Our Approach

The HardTuned strategy started with comprehensive research, progressed into full SEO implementation and was strengthened by ongoing support and continual improvements.

  1. Keywords Research expanding reach: We collaborated with the Hardtuned team to launch and execute the following on Shopify:

    • Selected a clear website identity from having no clear targeting to “Automotive Clothing” that guided our whole website structure.
    • 50+ pages of new metadata to start, remainder rolled out over 6 months
  2. Shopify Hierarchy Implementation:

    • Created Indexable SEO optimised sub-categories/filters
    • Updated H1s and targeting for all collections and sub-categories/filters
  3. Ongoing Growth & Support: Utilised our holistic approach to simulate ongoing growth & supported the campaign with technical and content SEO.

    • 5–10 Backlinks a month (Link Outreach/Social & Image posts).
    • Product pages optimisations (optimised URL path and structured data)
    • On-going research for new product acquisition

Summary

This campaign proudly took out Best Low Budget SEO Campaign at the 2025 Global Search Awards, proving that smart strategy beats big budgets. Non-branded rankings, impressions, clicks and new users all surged beyond expectations, driving a powerful uplift in organic traffic and revenue. A clear testament to the strength of the working partnership between HardTuned’s team and Megantic’s project team.
