Landing an Agency Award at the 2022 Search Engine Land Awards

The Search Engine Land Awards are organised through Search Engine Land. They are a global publication that covers all areas of digital marketing, including SEO and PPC, providing daily news coverage on industry trends, announcements, updates and breaking stories. Additional features include webinars, newsletters, blog posts, and of course, awards.

 

Landing SEO Agency of the Year

2022 is the first year we have entered the Search Engine Land Awards, and we took out the first prize for SEO Agency of the Year.

This particular award had four other agencies that were shortlisted. The award recognises “best-in-class” efforts of SEO agencies and their initiatives on behalf of their clients. The judging criteria required demonstrated and meaningful results for one specific client through the implementation of SEO best practices. We utilised Supplement Mart for this award entry.

Supplement Mart is one the largest supplement and sports nutrition retailers in Australia and we have been working together for two years. We have increased their organic rankings 7x since July 2021 and increased their new users by 65%. Supplement Mart has now become one of the most successful Shopify campaigns in our history.

 

Landing three finalist positions

We were also shortlisted for Best Overall SEO Initiative (Small Business) and two of our team were shortlisted for Search Marketer of the Year, Heath Hamilton and Vandana Kumar.

Best Overall SEO Initiative – Small Business

We entered Goldelucks for this award, a family-owned retail bakery in the gifting industry. Our primary task was to update their website in line with their new target audience. They were previously targeting shoppers looking for bakery products, but after their success on social media, we pivoted towards targeting gift buyers (especially last-minute present buyers). Our unique strategy for Goldelucks has resulted in a 230% increase in first page keywords and a 204% increase in total keywords.

 

Search Marketer of the Year – Heath Hamilton

Heath is a skilled and technical Project Manager & Team Lead with over nine years’ experience in the digital marketing space. He is known for his technical approach to SEO, not afraid to login to the backend websites to make changes on the fly in front of his clients. Recently, he has expanded into more complex and enterprise-level SEO for clients including Repco and Tentworld. Heath has exceeded expectations on many occasions and is a vital member of our team.

 

Search Marketer of the Year – Vandana Kumar

In her time at Megantic, Vandi’s skills and SEO knowledge have been recognised on the global scale where her client, Goldelucks, won Best Use Of Search (FMCG) at the Global Search Awards earlier this year. She has proven to be an exemplary leader, making time to mentor team members, and has maintained great rapport with all her clients. Vandi has been instrumental to the growth and the success of Megantic.
