It’s official, GA4 is here! There is no more count-down, UA will stop tracking and Agencies worldwide have been preparing for this. We know that this has taken up a lot of headspace for marketers lately so we’ve put together a quick blog into some of the events that have happened in June that you may have missed! 

 

Google

  • Google added AMP support to GA4. Learn how Google’s support for Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) can enhance mobile user experiences. 
  • The retirement of attribution models in Google Ads and Analytics has been rolled-out. Discover Google’s plans to retire certain attribution models and how it may impact your advertising and analytical strategies. 
  • There were fluctuations observed in Google’s search ranking algorithm in mid June reported by the SEO community. We have certainly seen some volatility on our end here in rankings. There hasn’t been any official announcements from Google however. Watch this space!
  • In June, Google released a new search spam report form. This aims to improve the quality of search results by combating spam.

Paid Advertising

  • Google Ads introduces automatic asset creation setting for PMax campaigns. Have a look at this new feature in Google Ads that automatically generates assets and the implications it has for advertisers and see how it might help you or your clients.
  • Now that GA4 is live, it looks like Google are now concentrating on an update to their paid ads platform. Explore the latest design update in Google Ads and how it might enhance the user experience for advertisers. 

 

Social Media

  • Elon Musk confirms Twitter’s initiative to pay verified content creators and the potential impact on content creation and monetisation. 
  • LinkedIn announced that they will test video ads for streaming services. This certainly could bring in some new opportunities for advertisers. 
  • TikTok introduced an ad script generator: The aim of this new tool is to simplify the process of creating engaging ads on the platform. Check it out if you utilise this platform.
  • Reddit launched a new ad product designed to help advertisers maximise conversions on the platform. 

 

AI

  • Google continues to invest in improving their AI product Bard, with an update to enhance math and data analysis capabilities and its impact on Google Sheets exports.
  • Shopify talked about introducing POS UI extensions that will enable developers to create custom user interfaces for point-of-sale systems. 

 

So there you have it folks! The trends seem to continue to focus on AI and integration which I’m sure will carry on into the foreseeable future.
